I got some nail mail yesterday and my hands were literally shaking as I was opening it!! I guess that's a sign of a true
I am finally in possession of the newest collection by Cult Nails, Divas and Drama!! Ever since I've seen swatches over the blogosphere I've been lemming after the whole collection!
I couldn't really decide on the color to wear (since they all look so awesome!!!) but I finally picked the one that I knew I would like the most: Cult Nails Seduction.
Seduction is basically a bunch of flakies suspended in sheer purple base. The flakies are predominantly golden and red but they turn to blue and green under different angles - yes, they are duochrome!!! Maria (of Cult Nails) is genius!!!
Which brings me to another point. When Clairvoyant (aka Unicorn Pee) came out and I looked at people's swatches, I didn't really understand what all the hype was about. Yeah, it was flakies, yeah they were colorful, so what? Well now I get it... I don't think there is a picture out there (unless you live in Harry Potter's Wizard world and you have access to those moving pictures) that truly reflects the true nature and beauty of these polishes! They look so bland on websites but they are truly something else in real life!! (at least I think that about Clairvoyant, I never got a chance to get it!! you snooze you lose blah)
Here's a preview:
Anyway, I felt like wearing predominantly purple so I used Misa Forbidden Lust as my base. Formula was pretty nice, although the brush could have been a little bit bigger for my taste. I used 2 coats which achieved full opacity. Forbidden Lust is a deep, saturated, vampy purple which is very beautiful in itself. I will certainly come back to it in the colder months!

Next, I applied 2 coats of Seduction. I could have gotten away with 1 coat but I wanted more saturation of the flakies. It seems that the sheer purple base of Seduction brightened Misa a little bit. The result of the layering is still a beautiful, vampy color but with this extra oomph!!
Check these out: And please remember that the polish looks sooo much better in real life!!!
I am reinforcing what I said earlier: this looks so much better in real life!! Misa Forbidden Lust is still available at TransDesign I believe. Cult Nails Seduction is limited edition and can be currently purchased by itself, or as part of the Divas and Drama collection at Cult Nails website. If you like flakies... don't be a dumbass like me! (I'm referring to me passing up on Clairvoyant, gah!!!) Buy Seduction before it's gone and you regret it!!
The overall look is certainly a little "blingy" so I hope I don't get comments at work today along the lines of "Where's the high school prom this week" or other crap like that... but who ever said that I care?? =))
What do you guys think of this polish?? Love/hate??
Thanks so much for stopping by!!
