Yes, that's an unusual post title.. I have decided to start up a new theme for Tuesdays! There are two reasons for this:
One, I need structure in my life. So many times I just stare at my huge display of
Two, I currently have 97 bottles of Zoya polish... When did I accumulate so much crap??? And I've only worn maybe 3 colors out of this!! I'm really not sure why I don't reach for Zoyas more, but this will change as of today!! =))
Not sure if this title rings a bell for you, but I borrowed it from the book by Mitch Albom "Tuesdays with Morrie." It's a non-fiction novel that I read many years ago but it has stuck in my head forever! It talks about acceptance, communication, love, values, openness, and happiness. If you haven't read it yet, here's a good page turner for you!
Anyway. For today's first "Tuesday with Zoya" I chose TWO colors. Hey, might as well start with a bang, right!!
First color I used was Zoya Kate, a gorgeous red-coral jelly that reached semi-opaqueness in two coats. I probably should have used three coats to cover the VNL. It is really beautiful with a really good formula too, but it looks dangerously similar to Cult Nails "Scandalous"... I will have to do comparison when it's time to take it off.
Next, I decided to add one coat of Zoya Belle, a nice pinkish/red shimmer in a light pink base. As you can see from the pictures below, two coats of Kate and one coat of Belle still did not manage to fully cover the nail.
Belle is nice but Kate is beautiful in my opinion... I should have just stuck with Kate alone. Not that there's anything wrong with the pinkish shimmer but I guess it's just not my cup of tea.. hence to the swap bin Belle goes!! Sorry girlie =) You'll find more love in other hands I'm sure!!
Here are the two ladies embraced in a hug:
The result is a little bit more coral-y/pink in real life.
Both Kate and Belle are part of the Birchbox-exclusive Zoya Blogger Collection.
What do you think? Will you be getting this collection of passing on in favor of dupes or similars?
Thanks so much for looking!!
Very pretty! I love the combination of the two of them :-)
ReplyDeleteThx so much!!
DeleteI don't think I will get them at the moment but I love the way they look together! I really love the coral shades and the shimmer in your picture is simply amazing! I think I will leave em for now in my wish list ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love coral too!! Now that i look at my nails in daylight I like them a little better, especially the shimmer. But they're so sheer!!!
DeleteI just found your blog, and I love it! I'm following you now. :) I love Zoya and have the opposite problem you do, why don't I have more? I'm with you, Kate is the best of this collection. It looks lovely on you. :)
