Cirque: Dark Horse and Epoch (picture heavy!)

Hello beauties!!

Weekend at last!!  I'm working today but I know that most of you are not and probably enjoying beautiful warm weather outside!!  I hope I can bring more happiness to your lives with these beautiful polishes:  Cirque Dark Horse and Cirque Epoch!!

I have introduced you to this brand already with my post on Vauderville.  I'm continuing to show you these beauties, because it would truly be a sin to keep them unused on my display rack!!  They were screaming to be opened!! =)

First I'll show you Dark Horse.  I didn't actually wear it as a mani, I just swatched it to show it to you.  As you can tell, it's black, and I personally think that black belongs to little colder months, or some special occasion.  The base of this polish is a little too sheer for me, therefore I decided to layer it over one coat of perfectly black Finger Paints Black Expressionism.  I only had to use one coat of Dark Horse to bring out all the beautiful bling in this polish!!!  As I said, it is a clear base with very densely packed holographic microglitter.  It is just stunning!!!  When I looked at it I immediately thought of a cloudless night sky in the middle of Grand Canyon when I decided to camp under the sky, no tent, at a primitive campsite.  The sky was so densely packed with stars, and so beautiful, and this polish is just as magnificent!!

Check it out:

twinkling stars!!  in.. sunlight LOL

With a great pain I took it off and applied Epoch which I am wearing today.
Now, this one is a little more difficult to describe.  At first glance it is dark metallic green which becomes teal, then pewter, then dark purple, while it's always infused with gorgeous multicolor microglitter.  This one really reminds me of the colorful duo- (or tri-??) chrome wings of a beetle.  It is sooo beautiful!!!
The formula is pretty good, and the swatches below show 2 coats.  Epoch has a satiny/ semi-matte finish which I decided to cover up with one coat of a shiny topcoat.

Check out this beauty here:

It was pretty difficult to chose pictures; Epoch is such a chameleon that I could easily insert 20 more shots!!

Dark Horse and Epoch are part of the debut collection of Cirque, with Annie Pham as its creator.  The polishes can be purchased at her website for $12/bottle (fast shipment and fabulous customer service!!).

What do you think about wearing black nail polish in the summer?  Am I the only one that goes with bright, summery colors in the season?

I hoped you liked today's post!  Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see ya again tomorrow with more goodies from Cirque!

  1. I'm definitely like you, I pick lighter, brighter colours at this time of the year. Might make exceptions if they're holographic though and when we enter august I believe I will start reaching for the darker polishes again.
