Happy Monday!! (that's a joke =) ) Those weekends go waaaay too fast!!!
To take your Monday Blues away I have a gorgeous blue for you!! I got it in my last post and Mihaela asked to see it, so there you go girlie!! I hope everyone else likes it too! Here is Nubar Absolute.
When I started applying Absolute I was extremely disappointed. It's very very sheer and it didn't cover my nail even in 3 coats!! So I decided to layer it over another blue. I chose China Glaze "Bahamian Escape", a beautiful sky blue which I already showed you here (my goodness, my pictures were horrible back then... I'm not even going back to the beginnings of this blog 'cuz I'm too embarassed!)

Next I added one coat of Nubar Absolute. It's a holographic scattered microglitter suspended in a sheer blue base. Even though it was too sheer to cover up VNL in 3 coats, 1 coat was enough to cover bald spots on the base color. Formula is very nice as well. The finish kinda reminds me of China Glaze "Fairy Dust", only in blue base instead of a clear base.
Aaaaand, since I"m trying my luck at nail art again, I added some rhinestones to my accent finger!! I really hope I have at least one left after full day of work!
Absolute is part of Nubar's Prisms collection released in Spring 2010 and I got my bottle at Harlow&Co.
I initially didn't want to keep it, but it looks so gorgeous in combination with "Bahamian Escape" that I think I will put it back in my stash. By itself it's definitely disappointing, but I definitely don't have anything that looks like this combination!! If a dupe comes to mind, please let me know!!
Hope you guys have a wonderful Monday!! Thanks so much for stopping by =)

I started my Monday with this beautiful polish. I love it! Shame about the sheerness but you can always experiment with layering. I knew it was going to be gorgeous when I saw it in the bottle! And I was right yay!Oh and Bahamian Escape is gorgeous too. I must add it to my collection because I need one-coat blues. I'm off to write my own Monday Blues post now!
ReplyDeleteI'm such a dumbass, I forgot to include the weekly Monday Blues participants in my post!!! So sorry, I will do that ASAP when I get home from work!!! I'm so glad you like this polish!! Bahamian Escape would actually take 2 coats for full opacity, too many bald spots with one!! It sure is pretty though!!
DeleteThis is such a pretty polish!! And I'm loving the accent nail.
ReplyDeleteAww thx so much Marisa!! I'm actually proud of it LOL ;)
DeleteWhat a beautiful color!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Annie!
DeleteOh, I love both of these colors! And your rhinestones! I don't have any Nubar, are they all as sheer as this one was?
ReplyDeleteThank you =))) I don't now about other Nubars... I have 3 others but haven't tried them yet... so many polishes but only so many days!!! I'll try to put them on soon!
DeleteI have several Nubar polishes.... they are all beautiful and opaque. Reclaim is my favorite as are all of the colors in the sparkles collection. Check for swatches/reviews online first... you won't be disappointed :-)
DeleteI have Reclaim also and haven't tried it yet.... so many polishes and so few days!!!!
DeleteThis is such a stunning combo! I am so fond of light blue these days I just love this. Also the rhinestones make the look so girly. Just great Gosia!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Karen!!!! =))
DeleteThis color screams your name! Bummer it gave you trouble.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I really dislike the sheers.. I always think "what's the point if you can't see them right away"??!! but I will keep this one since it layered so nicely!
