Hi beauties!!
It's Wednesday again, and besides it being a hump day, it's also the breast cancer awareness day in our October challenge!
For this one I chose OPI "Aphrodite's Pink Nightie" and did some stamping to honor the survivors and the fighters of this terrible disease.
First I painted all my nails (besides the ring finger) with Aphrodite's Pink Nightie. I gotta say, the name is very appropriate, at least when it comes to my personal life. I have a nightie in exactly the same color!! ooops...TMI??? =))
Anyway, it's a Barbie/sweet pink that covers the nail in 2 very easy coats. It goes on the nail sorta frosty so the brushstrokes are somewhat visible. Although I usually don't care for polishes like these, I really really like the color so I will keep this one! I looked through my stash as well and I don't have any pink close to this one, they're either much darker or lighter, and all cremes, so this one is definitely a keeper.
I covered my accent nail with China Glaze "Snow", 2 easy coats of snow white creme.
Then I stamped my accent finger with the ribbon design from BM-324 and using "China Glaze "QT". Btw, I wanted to thank Jin for this post which came in soooo handy to me today!! She mentioned how she had trouble transferring an image onto her nails, and after exhausting all the tricks up her sleeve she filed down the actual scraper. I, instead of filing the scraper, just grabbed another one and that made all the difference in the world!! Thank you Jin for giving us this tip!!!
I also added one little pink rhinestone that I got in a bundle from Cult Nails.
Aphrodite's Pink Nightie originally came out in spring of 2004 in OPI's Greek Isles collection. It is available for purchase through Amazon and e-Bay.
I have to say that I really really like this mani!!! It's so delicate and girly yet it makes such a powerful statement with the pink color and the ribbon. Long live the ta-tas!!!!
Check out what the other talented bloggers came up with!!
I actually liked this pink even if it is Barbie pink :)
ReplyDeleteLove the accent nail I also have that BM plate and was thinking of doing something with it for one of the Pink Wednesdays!

DeleteThis is so pretty! And the stamping is great. I never thought of filing my scraper. I use the metal one from Konad and although it scratches my plates, it works great. But I did have a lot of trouble with my stamping before I got the Konad stamper and scraper.
ReplyDeleteI try to avoid my metal scraper because of that reason... Konad plastic scraper is great isn't it!! I love their stamper too, it's just soft enough to pick up all the images!
