Thirsty Thursdays: New York Cocktail

Hey girlies!!

Today is somewhat a rotten day for me...  I found out a couple days ago about one of my colleague's death :((. She's been battling breast cancer for a few years now and finally the disease won :(( It's so hard to believe since she was known for her vitality and joy of life.  She was the biggest goofball I've ever met!!  And tonight is her wake :(. Damn damn cancer!!!

On a happier note today is another nail polish inspired happy hour!  Today's drink is the New York cocktail, inspired by - you guessed it - Enchanted Polish "Hello New York"!!

Hello New York is gorgeous!!!  I usually don't care for this type of color but this is certainly an exception!  It's a green glitter that shifts to gold and sparkles, sparkles, sparkles like there's no tomorrow!!  I layered 2 coats over a black base to bring out all the beauty!!

Hello New York is part of Enchanted Polish Big City Lights collection released earlier this year.  It can be purchased at Harlow & Co. or Llarowe.

And now it's time for a delicious cocktail!!

New York Cocktail
source of picture and recipe
Ingredients:
  • 4 oz. of whiskey (I used Southern Comfort)
  • 1 and 1/2 oz. of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tbsps. of superfine sugar (I suggest substituting lemon infused simple syrup)
  • 1 tsp. of grenadine
  • lemon slices, to garnish
Directions:
  1. Pour all the ingredients in a shaker.
  2. Drop in about four ice cubes.
  3. Shake vigorously.
  4. Strain into cocktail glasses.
  5. Garnish with lemon slices.

Hope you liked today's NOTD and drink!!  Thanks for joining me at this week's happy hour =))

  5. So sorry about your colleague :-( Yeah cancer blows.
This polish has an amazing color. I really love it, although I still am not sure about the finish. I don't know, I am not very fond of this glitter. although i've seen it in other combos that I did like. Somehow... this collection doesn't attract me :-(
