Monday Blues: Smooth Sailing

Hi girlies!!

I can't believe it's freaking Monday again!!!  I just got done working like a dog and now I have to do it all over again for a whole week???!!!

Luckily there's nail polish to soothe my crying =)  Especially the one I'm showing you today!!  My Monday Blues are definitely easing up with Essie "Smooth Sailing"!

Smooth Sailing is a blurple!  All the pictures you see should be a little bit more purple, my camera just could not capture the purple undertones =(  So, the base is medium hue blue with purple undertones with some silver and just a hint of multicolor shimmer in it.  In addition, there is a certain built-in texture to this polish.  It's almost like a very fine saran-wrap with some lighter blue.  Looking at my pictures will probably make more sense!
It took two coats of somewhat thick formula for full opacity.  First coat was streaky but the second one leveled itself out.

I added a triangular light green rhinestone to each nail.  My hubby called it a Star Trek mani (in not very favorable voice haha).  Eh, what do dudes know anyway!!

Smooth Sailing is part of Essie's collection released in summer of 2011.

Does this mani remind you guys of Star Trek too?  I guess there's a character named 'Voltaire' or something, and my hubs left my 'manicure room' singing in a deep voice:  "Voltaire....  the nail polish warrior"!!  WTF =))

  1. I love love love Smooth Sailing! Every time I see it on somebody else I remember I need to wear it again. The little flecks are beautiful in this one. I really like it paired with the green rhinestones. Now that you mention it, it does look a bit sci-fi. Your husband is so funny!
