Monday Blues: Tinsel Town

Hi ladies!

I'm not going to say much here today.  I've been trying to keep my head up and not even say anything here but it's just so hard not to think about it... I'm referring to the tragedy at Newtown, Ct.  Even though I don't have any children of my own, it is still gut wrenching to even think about what happened there.   Just like many others out there, I can't even begin to wrap my head around why anybody in the world would want to hurt an innocent child =(  I can't imagine what these poor families have to go through..  me, who does not have kids, cannot shake this away, so I can't even begin to imagine what pain all those moms, dads, sisters and brothers must be in =(

So no jokes today.  Just the Monday Blues.  Even polish won't take them away :/

I used Essie "Cocktail Bling" and China Glaze "Tinsel Town" for this one.

Cocktail Bling is a very greyed out light blue creme.  I love colors like these, little chameleons =)  Two coats of a little tricky formula, had to apply it carefully!

My accent nail has 2 coats of Tinsel Town (applied over Essie), a dense mix of silver and grey glitter in a greyish base.

I finished off the look with dark blue square rhinestones.

Cocktail Bling is part of Essie Winter 2011 collection.
Tinsel Town is part of China Glaze Let It Snow collection also released in 2011 for the holidays.

Hope you guys liked this mani.  Sorry for being so gloomy today, but I'm sure most of you share my feelings.

Don't forget to check out these other fabulous blues!:

  1. Beautiful mani.

No worries about being gloomy. I am also very distubed by the Newtown tradgey, its quite possibly one of the sadest things I've ever heard, and a nightmare come true for ALL parents. My very existance/soul/being, is repulsed at the deepest level by what that guy did. My little boy (Matthew) is the same age as some of those lost souls, and that really hit home with me. Also my heart breaks for the children who witnessed it all.

    1. oh my gosh, this must be especially awful for you... I agree, my heart breaks for the families who lost their little angels, but also for the children who survived and will be traumatized by what they've seen and heard at that time =((((

  3. I don't really have any words for what happened. Unfortunately this world is evil and all we have to do is take care as much as we can...

Your mani is beautiful though. Gloomy indeed but very pretty.

  4. Gorgeous mani!
I'm avoiding the news at all costs and hugging my son a little tighter today. Going to school after the tragedy is hard.

  5. It's funny cause I never thought about Cocktail Bling as a "blue". I can see some blue in some lights, but it came out more purple in my pics. I love it so much! And those rhinestones are precious!
