Crumpet's 33DC: Tape Mani

Hi ladies!!

Friday finally!!  yay!!    How was your week?

Today's day of the Crumpet's 33DC calls for a tape mani.  I know there are a lot of people out there who really like this technique, but I absolutely hate it!!  I love the whole look of it but I just suck at it!  I always manage to peel the underlying polish, no matter how dry I think it is.  I don't put the tape on right and get the overlying polish under the tape.  It always turns out awful!  Including this time...  so sorry guys, I almost didn't want to post it because it took me 3 times to do this!!!  gah!!

In any case, what you see here are two polishes:  China Glaze "Agent Lavender" and China Glaze "Virtual Violet".

First I started with three coats of Agent Lavender, pastel periwinkle grey with somewhat thin formula.  My accent finger has 2 coats of Virtual Violet, a purple with scattered holo.  It dried semi-matte but came right to life with a topcoat.

I added two strips of tape across each nail except for the accent one.  I painted over with Virtual Violet which covered with only 1 coat.  I added 3 blue rhinestones to my accent nail to complete the look.  So sorry I messed up my tape mani AGAIN!! =(

Agent Lavender is part of China Glaze Operation Color released in fall of 2008.
Virtual Violet is part of China Glaze Tronica collection released in spring of 2011.

Well I hope you like this mani anyway even though it's far from perfect...  in the meantime, please check out the perfect manis from the other participants!!

Thanks so much for reading!!

  1. Still looks like a great tape mani to me!

  2. So pretty!! I love the color combo!

  3. I like grey and lavender, so Agent Lavender is made for me! But, Virtual Violet is gorgeous!!! :-)
